An idea for boys that might work would be to add a strip of fabric that is the same width as the diameter of the shirt that needs to be fixed (so it doesn't have to be gathered or pleated), and make it shorter so you don't get accused of dressing your boy like a girl...

He is so precious! Makes me want another baby. It seems like yesterday I was in the hospital in labor and now next month he will be 1 year old! Time does go by so fast when they are babies!
