Daniel was given a top job in the kingdom of Darius because he was a faithful hard worker.
This made the King's helpers jealous of Daniel.
King Darius' helpers schemed a plan against Daniel.
They tricked the king to pass a law that said no one could pray to God for 30 days or would be cast into the (scarey) lion's den.
Daniel had a habit to pray to God three times a day.
Daniel knew of the law, but he continued to pray each day as he always did because he loved God.
The King's helpers watched Daniel closely to catch him in prayer- breaking the law.
When they caught Daniel praying to God, they took him to the King.
When King Darius heard news that Daniel had broken the law, he realized that he had been tricked. His heart was greatly troubled because he loved
The King had to punish Daniel and ordered that Daniel be cast into a den of (fierce, hungry) lions.
The king hoped that Daniel’s God would deliver him.
The king was so worried about Daniel that he couldn’t sleep that night.
Early the next morning, the king went to see if Daniel had been killed.
He cried out to see if Daniel was alive and Daniel answered him,
"My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me."
The king was overjoyed and had Daniel pulled out of the lions den. No injury was found on him, because he believed in God.
The King then brought the men who had accused Daniel and threw them in the den of lions, along with every member of their families.
The lions tore them to pieces before they could even hit the ground.
And Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius.
Story taken from Daniel 6
"For He is the living God,
And steadfast forever;
His kingdom is the one
which shall not be destroyed,
And His dominion shall endure to the end.
He delivers and rescues,
And He works signs and wonders
In heaven and on earth,
Who has delivered Daniel
from the power of the lions. "
Daniel 6:26-27

What wonderful memories your children will have to share with their children about how you trained them up in the way they should go, so when they are old they will not depart from it!
